RapidIdentity Product Guide

Integrating and Applying RapidIdentity APIs

RapidIdentity APIs enable developers and other information technology profiles to access and employ identity information that is otherwise not available in the user interface.

Depending on the specific use case and its solution implementation, technology professionals can leverage the APIs to help automate self-service actions, provisioning, auditing, and even integrate the underlying RapidIdentity technology into a custom environment independent of the RapidIdentity user interface.

API-derived solutions, whether the APIs are specific to RapidIdentity or integrate service provider APIs (e.g. Google), are representative of a snapshot-in-time since APIs adapt and evolve relative to the software roadmap. As software increases in functionality and obsoletes older technology and features, APIs adapt and evolve accordingly. If an API is not available when required or if additional functionality is necessary beyond the currently available API, a RapidIdentity Connect RESTPoint can bridge this gap.

Moreover, the manner in which RapidIdentity can be leveraged to address a use case and implement a solution is dependent on the RapidIdentity licensing, the organization's environment (e.g. systems, software, necessary regulations), and how the customer chooses to address the use case.

To address this context, the following scenario is intended to provide a conceptual overview to how RapidIdentity's technology and APIs can address key identity and access management scenarios, which can then inspire technology professionals to leverage this technology to develop unique solutions for their own environment.
